FIF brokers PPP between Delta State Government and Obasanjo Farms
Written by FIF Site AdminAgriculture Digest Vol 5 No. 2 May, 2010: Agricultural production receives a boost in Delta State of Nigeria as the Executive Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan approves a proposal for Public-Private Partnership between the State Government and Obasanjo Farms Nigeria Limited, OFN. The joint venture arrangement involves establishment of a large-scale poultry complex to comprise a processing plant for chicken as well as complementary enterprises.
Ibadan 8th April 2010/Abuja 7th May 2010: FIF staffers have held a two-stage workshop on a workplace policy for the organization on HIV/AIDS, at Ibadan and Abuja respecctively. The exercise was at the instance of OXFAM Novib which is providing support for the articulation of the policy, following the financial assistance provided to FIF to implement its National Campaign on Right to Food in Nigeria.
Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso (21-26 March 2010): The ECOWAS project on Agricultural Information System (AGRIS) received a boost. The latest meeting has produced the final templates for identifying and collecting the required sets of data for constructing the indicators of monitoring and evaluating agricultural performance of the region; these are Agricultural Performance Indicator Menu Table, and Agricultural Performance Indicator Data Table.
As previously announced on this website, the Government of Delta State of Nigeria has organized a Stakeholders Forum on 1st March 2010, with FIF as the Technical Partner. The Forum, which was held at Government House, Asaba, Delta State, was the initiative of His Excellency, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan.
